[HOW TO] Create Shopify Custom App for Feed Management

Click on Create App

Give the app a suitable name

Select the scopes below. You can either select them individually or copy and paste the comma-separated list below into the scope section:

read_discounts,read_discovery,read_inventory,read_metaobjects,read_product_feeds,read_product_listings,read_products,read_channels,read_locales,read_locations,read_translations,read_custom_pixels,read_analytics,read_apps,read_checkout_branding_settings,read_files,read_customers,read_assigned_fulfillment_orders,read_orders,read_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders,read_third_party_fulfillment_orders,write_orders,write_draft_orders,read_draft_orders,read_fulfillments,read_custom_fulfillment_services,read_fulfillment_constraint_rules,read_publications,read_markets,read_content,read_online_store_pages

Click the "Release" Button. In the release pop-up window, its ok to leave the version name and message blank, just press release 

You will be returned to the version screen, which will show you all the versions of your app. Click on the app's name as shown in red below (note the app's name will match what you choose in step one)

Installing the app

Pressing "Install app" will open a new page in your browser, and you will be asked to select the store to which the app should be installed. Note you may see multiple stores (production and dev/staging for example). Choose your production site

Please select admin domain not store front domain

Click on the "Install" button

Your newly installed app name will appear under "Apps" now on the admin page

The final step is to retrieve the Client ID and Secret

Go back to the original tab in your browser; it will be the one that has "https://dev.shopify.com/dashboard" in the address bar. Click on "Settings"

Send the following back to the onboarding team, who will set up the data retrieval and indexing required for feed management

• Client ID  
• Secret
• Domain URL that we need to point to, which will look something like this "your-store.myshopify.com"
